There is a lot happening at Calancombe right now. The harvest is underway, the winery is in full swing, and the Estate is buzzing with the kind of energy that only comes around once a year. And with the season turning and Christmas on the horizon, it feels like a good moment to share everything that’s coming up at the Estate over the next few months.
Autumn is genuinely one of the best times to visit a working vineyard. The vines are at their most active, the winery is processing the harvest, and there is a real sense of purpose and excitement across the Estate. A tour or tasting at this time of year gives you a fascinating insight into how English wine is actually made, from the moment the grapes are picked to the moment they begin their transformation in the winery.
Tours, tastings and experiences are available throughout September and October, but the Estate closes on 24th October before reopening on 4th December, so if you’ve been thinking about visiting, now is the time.
Christmas at Calancombe
The Estate reopens in December with plenty to look forward to. A special Christmas Menu is available at £75 per person on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month, with evening dining on 11th and 18th December until 8pm. Every guest arrives to a glass of Carobella Rosé Sparkling 2023, before choosing from a seasonal menu of carefully prepared dishes. Pre-booking is required.
For teams and organisations, Calancombe offers a genuinely refreshing alternative to the usual Christmas party. Every corporate Christmas visit is individually planned, with options including festive lunches, guided wine tastings, vineyard tours and sessions at the Dartmouth Gin School.
